Something’s Brewing – Part 3

If you were sitting across from me at a table sharing a cup of coffee (vanilla latte or caramel macchiato) and I could listen to you talk about your dreams, what would you tell me?

Habakkuk 2:2-3 says, “Write the vision, and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry” (NKJV)! I love that scripture!

When you see something, hope for something, and believe for something, then that “dream seed” can grow in faith, until one day it blossoms into a miracle! Your dream seed has to be:

  1. Based on the Word of God (Your hope/dream/vision cannot be contrary to the Word!)
  2. Watered with prayer
  3. Not for selfish gain (ask yourself, “Why do I want to see this happen in my life?”)

Some of you may be in the early stages of dreaming. Some of you may have some dreams that you have put on hold or even forgotten about. It might be time to dust those dreams off! Don’t let the mistakes or hurts of yesterday rob you! Live in the now – plan for the future!

Dreams can take on a different perspective than we sometimes plan. We get in our minds how we think something is going to be or how it’s going to look. No one knows what a baby will look like until it’s born. They might have an idea of what it will look like, but until it is birthed no one knows for sure if it will have dark hair, no hair, eyes like its mommy, or a nose like its daddy.

Have you ever done a crossword puzzle? You have to think in a different perspective to often find the answer. I believe that God is telling us to “think different; see different!” The answer could be right in front of you, and you can’t see it. Ask the Lord to illuminate your mind and perspective to see as He would have you to see and perceive. I pray that He anoints your spiritual eyes to see things in a new and fresh-brewed way!

Psalm 37:4 says, “Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart” (NKJV). When you delight in Him, seek Him, and love Him above all, He will put His desires in your heart! In other words, He will plant His desires, His seeds, and His ideas in your heart!

A God-desire – a dream seed from God – will never leave you! But, watch out for dream thieves! Sometimes people will make negative comments or judge your dream wrongly. Be careful with whom you share your dream! And don’t ever let negative circumstances rob your dream! Keep on keepin’ on!

Have you ever shared your dream with someone and if so, what was their reaction?  If they responded positively, it made you want to keep believing didn’t it?  But if you shared your dream with someone and they were a “dream thief,” how did that make you feel?
