Fashion for Every Body: Part 1

FashionEveryBody

It is always fun and exciting to see the new styles of the season, but how do we, as women, know which pieces to buy if we don’t know what looks best on our own bodies? Well, look no further! Almost all women can be categorized into one of four body type groups: the “H,” the “V,” the “8,” and the “A.”

Do you know women who look great no matter that they wear? For some, no doubt it can be accredited to genetics, but for others, the real secret is that they have learned what type of fabrics and styles tend to flatter their figures. Over the next four days, you will learn which type best describes your vivacious body and what type of garments you should or should not wear to flatter your curves!  Read on to unveil the best-dressed you!

The “H” or “Ruler” Body Type

Rulers tend to be slender with equal proportions and less definition to their curves. The upper body and lower body are proportionate to one another, meaning there is little difference between the measurement of chest, waist, and hips. Ruler bodies generally have smaller busts.

Do:

  • Empire tops and halter tops will accentuate a smaller bust.
  • Wear jacket and tops that hug the waist to provide more shape. Wrap dresses certainly do the trick!
  • Prints, details, or ruffles will add more dimension to your lack of curves.

Don’t:

  • Avoid baby doll dresses. They will flatten the curves you do have.
  • Steer clear of shapeless tops and loose clothing. Pick something that will taper around the waist.
  • High-waisted pants and skirts tend to shorten the torso (not what you are looking for!) Drop-waist bottoms are best.
