Too often in life we focus on the troublesome situations and we forget to stop and just praise the Lord. Instead of focusing on what challenge may be in front of you, praise Him today! The Lord is so good! He is faithful, He is mighty, and He loves us! No matter the situation the Lord will step in and give you peace, guidance, and comfort.
So, not only during this Thanksgiving week, but each and every day count the many blessings God has given you. For when you have an attitude of gratitude it will chase the blues away!
Count your blessings today and share with us what you are thankful for!
“Bless the Lord, O my Soul, and forget not all his benefits”
(Psalm 103:2 KJV).
“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you”
(I Thessalonians 5:18 KJV).
Count Your Blessings
By Johnson Oatman, Jr
When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God hath done!
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.
Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, every doubt will fly,
And you will keep singing as the days go by.
Count your blessings….
When you look at others with their lands and gold,
Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold;
Count your many blessings. Wealth can never buy
Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high.
Count your blessings…
So, amid the conflict whether great or small,
Do not be disheartened, God is over all;
Count your many blessings, angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.
“Count Your Blessings” is a song I remember from my childhood and God frequently reminds me of the words – to count my blessings, and name them one by one. We all get so caught up in life and struggles, that we often forget the many things that God does for us every day. We have so much to be thankful for! Happy Thanksgiving!!
Thanksgiving has become my favorite holiday! When you begin to list your blessings – God’s grace, His mercy, His love, my husband, my beautiful daughters, my family, my church – you can’t help but be overwhelmed by gratefulness! Happy Thanksgiving!
Counting my blessings has become a daily event but even more so at Thanksgiving when the season is upon us reminding us of what God has done for us, what he continues to do, and what we can always look forward to. My biggest blessing is my relationship with my Lord, oh how you changed my life the day I was born again! My family blesses me with their love and joy we share when we can get together. My church and Pastors Bagwell and Gayla, what a difference you have made in my walk with God, how you have opened my eyes to blessings I was taking for granted – Thank You. All the wonderful people I have come to know and love at WOLCC, now I have a much bigger family then I started out with 8+ years ago. Thank You God for living in me and blessing me with your love and faithfulness! Happy Thanksgiving to All !! ( :
Thank you for the great reminder that our thanksgiving transcends our earthly status. That because of His sacrifice and because he ransomed us, we are free. I am grateful that the Lord has overcome the world and that when I get burdened with what I see around me, I am reminded through scripture that because of Him, we are not subject to the burdens of this world. Hallelujah!
John 16:33 (KJV)
33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
Oh thank you Jesus!
While we are instructed in the bible to rejoice always and to give thanks in all things, there is something special about reminiscing and offering thanks during the holiday season. As I reflect on God’s blessings this year, my heart is overwhelmed …
“How can I say thanks for things you have done for me … things so undeserved, yet you gave to prove your love to me. The voices of a million angels could not express my gratitude. All that I am, or ever hope to be … I owe it all to you!”
So, this Thanksgiving, as I count my blessings, I am thankful for godly parents, a healthy son, and for holy ghost filled Pastors. I am also thankful for God’s divine providence; his protection; his provision; and for his divine promises to me. I am blessed today because of God’s faithfulness to me — “Thank you lord for your blessings on me!”
Amen!
So many times we find ourselves caught up with “life”… meetings, deadlines, carpools, that we forget to take time and reflect on what God has done for us, how He blesses us every day! This is a great reminder to slow down and thank Him. My heart overflows with gratitude when I think about His goodness, His grace, and His mercy. I am so thankful that I have a God who knows me and loves me anyway! That He sent His Son to die for me, so I can have eternal life! I am thankful for the people that He has placed around me. For my family, my husband and my beautiful children. I am thankful for my friends, those that are here with me and my sweet “sister” that I will one day see again in Heaven. I am thankful for my church and for my Pastors, who challenge me and remind me that I am who God says I am. My hope is that, not just on Thanksgiving, but everyday, we remember to take time and thank God for all He has done, all He is doing, and all He will do…He is worthy! Happy Thanksgiving!
My heart is overflowing with much gratitude this holiday season as I reflect on God’s abundant grace. Of the many blessings that have been freely given to me, I am most thankful to God for my husband Duke. I will always bless the Lord for the privilege to be married to a wonderful man of God – for his amazing friendship, support, direction and much love! I am grateful for God-fearing daughters who continuously make us proud.
I bless God for planting my family under the best Pastors in the Universe, Dr. Tim and Gayla Bagwell – for their leadership, care, and integrity – and for teaching an uncompromising word of God. You have impacted our lives and we will forever be grateful.
When I think about my amazing siblings, the fond memories of my late father, and incredible mom, I cannot help but to dance for joy and to be glad. Thanks Daddy – for loving us so much!
I am grateful for my work, the opportunity to serve at WOLCC and all of the wonderful people that are in my life. For as long as I have breath, I will offer a heart of worship to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Happy Thanksgiving and remember that God loves you!
My blessings are too numerous to count! I am so thankful for my children, grandchildren, sisters, other family members, friends, my Pastors, Jesus, the Holy Spirit…
I am thank for and am in awe of my Father. It’s hard to believe that He loves me just as He loves Jesus! He loves me so much that He sent me a new “best friend,” the Holy Ghost, the most powerful friend anyone can have. He is so faithful to me! He never disappoints me. He is a friend Who is with me in every trial, every adversity. His joy is unspeakable and full of glory! He won’t allow me to stay downcast. He knows just what to say and how to encourage me when my flesh wants to misbehave. He is my greatest cheerleader. He even finds a way to bless my mistakes. I am so blessed! If I had a thousand tongues, I could not thank God enough for all of His goodness, His mercy and His grace! Have a blessed Thanksgiving!
I am so thankful that the Lord has brought me “through” this year! He is so faithful and amazing…O” how I love Jesus!
