Prayer Warrior

Prayer-Warrior

Prayer is not a passive activity. It is an offensive strategy designed by God to destroy the works of the devil (see Ephesians 6:10-18). However, too often Christians perceive prayer as merely a reverent petition and they limit the power of prayer. We have become passive, spiritual hostages, while biblical values are attacked and immorality celebrated. Through fear and emotion we continue to be held hostage to the very enemy Jesus defeated over 2000 years ago! Today, God needs a mighty army of prayer warriors who will arise and set the captives free; to become the repairers of the breach, the restorers of paths to dwell in (see Isaiah 58:12).

In order to bring God’s will out of the spiritual realm and into the earth, His able-bodied prayer warriors need to invade the kingdom of darkness using His tactics and strategies. Christians are not engaged in an ordinary war, but a spiritual war that requires spiritual weapons: “For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does” (2 Corinthians 10:3 NIV). We are called to follow His orders—fighting with the weapons found in His Word: “The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:4-5). He also explains the importance of putting on His spiritual armor. “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes” (Ephesians 6:10-11 NIV).

God is depending on us to use His Word, our prayers of intercession, and the warrior’s garments to safeguard our children, family, friends, the Church and its pastors, our leaders, the nation, and the world. It’s a fixed fight. We win, “…because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4 KJV).
