Last week we learned that even though we are God’s daughters, we will still face trials and challenges; however, there are keys to helping us build an unshakable house. The first two were: a foundation on godly principles and creating an architectural plan. This week we’ll discover four additional keys to being a wise builder.
Embrace Teamwork and Unity
It is essential that we acquire the knowledge and expertise of the best contractors and subcontractors in any building project. The ability to delegate work and be in harmony with others is a great trait in building an empire. We all have specialties and unique skill sets. In my business career, I rely a great deal on the expertise of others to implement my clients’ projects based on their unique requirements. My company’s success is actually mostly achieved when I focus on what I can do best. Teamwork helps get things accomplished more efficiently.
Follow the Rules
When building a house, we abide by the building codes and laws of the governing city or county. Each great house is built on discipline and regulations; in the same way, every kingdom has a ruler and subjects. God gave the Ten Commandments to Moses for God’s people to abide by. In addition to this, there are biblical laws and statutes that bring us long life and prosperity. Following these laws, commandments, and statutes allows us to enjoy great stability in life. Psalms 103:19 says, “The Lord has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all” (NIV). As princesses, we should set a standard by following the King’s decrees.
Protect Our Investments
We should safeguard ourselves so that we are not overtaken by the thief. In John 10:10, we are reminded that the thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. No one builds a beautiful house, furnishes it nicely, and leaves the door and windows open for the thief to come in and steal. In that same verse, Jesus said that He has come so that we may have life more abundantly. We must protect ourselves by guarding our eyes and ears, the gateway to our heart. With our eyes, we form perception about situations. Through our ears, we not only hear, but form opinions. These are the representation of the windows and doors to our building. It is critical for us to safeguard these in order to live an abundant life full of God’s promises.
Presentation to the Rightful Owner
Our goal should be to present an excellent and unique building to the homeowner. The house that we build is for the glory of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords! Hebrews 3:4 states: “For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything” (NIV). We need to remember that our citizenship is in heaven and not of this earth.
Use these keys to build a solid and enduring inner house for a daughter of the Most High God!
