Becoming a Part of God’s Family: Extraordinary!

We are created in God’s image. His plans for us are good, and not for evil, to give us hope and a good and blessed future (see Jeremiah 29:11). Abba Daddy is only good and wants only good things for us.  He raises us up (just like we are instructed to do with our children) in the nurture and admonition of the Lord – teaching and showing us what will cause our lives to be peaceful, joyful, righteous, fruitful, and pleasing to Him. Luke 11:13 says, “If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” (NIV).

So, how do we ask Him? We just ask Him. Just as in the natural realm there is a birthing process; so is there too in the spiritual realm.  Jesus tells us in John 3:3 that we must be born again into the kingdom of God.  And once we ask Him, He becomes our Father and He takes care of us.

He joins us to His “family” to nurture and support us. There is great benefit to being born into God’s family. We can grow and become extraordinary people when we become who God says we are.  He spoke us into being and created us, uniquely and individually, having a plan for us, and teaching and empowering us to be able to fulfill it. Joshua 1:8 says, “Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful” (NIV). His plan is that we prosper, be in good health, and have a flourishing soul. His plan is that we develop and experience love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control (see Galatians 5:22). He wants us to know that we are loved with an everlasting love so that we are afraid of nothing. We become joint heirs with Christ, with equal rights, power and anointing, and citizenship in heaven.

If you would like to be part of God’s family, and be empowered to fulfill your purpose and destiny, ask Him by praying these words:

Dear God,

I want to be part of your family. I want to be and do everything that I was created to be and do.  I want to be Your child. I ask you to forgive me of my sin. I believe Jesus died for me to take the penalty of my sin, that I can be free of sin.  I ask You to be my Lord and Savior.  Fill me with your Holy Spirit, so that I am empowered to be the extraordinary person you intend me to be.  Thank you for loving me!  In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
