“Rising to Royalty” Part I

Rising-To-Royalty

I first realized that I was royalty about 15 years ago while sitting in a Christian counselor’s office. In spite of being saved for years, I was in bondage to intimidation, insecurity, and low self-esteem.  While sharing with my counselor the week’s events – my failures, successes, and fears – she suddenly interrupted me in the middle of my sentence by saying, “Michele, I see you with a tiara on your head!” She then prophesied to me that God would transform me into royalty, that He had great plans for me, and that He thought I was beautiful!” This woman of God then laid hands on me, and I was filled with the Holy Spirit right there in her office!

Looking back, I realize that this was one of the pivotal events in my life. From that day forward, the Lord began personally speaking to me about how He created me as royalty. Over the next few years Jesus lured me into a deeper and more intimate relationship with Him. I began to hear His voice like never before.  He revealed truths that would forever change how I saw Him, as well as how I saw myself. Hallelujah!

One of my favorite scriptures is found in Ezekiel 16:3-14. During my own personal transformation into royalty, God opened my eyes to this beautiful story and how He has plans for all of His daughters to “rise to royalty.” In these passages, God reveals His process to bring us out of emotional poverty and into a restored position of royalty.

The first process is to know that you are not alone. Ezekiel 16:3-5 describes a condition that we have all found ourselves in at some point in life – a condition of brokenness and abandonment. “But you were thrown out into the open field, when you yourself were loathed on the day you were born” (Ezekiel 16:5b NKJV). Have you ever been neglected by someone who should have cared for you? Have you ever been betrayed by someone you trusted? Have you ever felt alone and unloved? These are all symptoms of living on this sin-filled planet. Know that you are not alone when it comes to feeling broken and abandoned. This is the place where God may first find you and will begin His redemptive work in transforming your life!

Are you in the middle of trials and struggles that have caused you to feel abandon, broken or cast aside? Are you feeling everything but royal today? Remember you are not alone! Though you may not feel like royalty, you still are. You are a daughter of the Most High God. He promises He will never leave nor forsake us. No problem is to great or small for our God! We are reminded in Psalms to cast our cares on the Lord because He cares for us, He will never let the righteous fall. Go before the Lord and cast your fears, worries, troubles and anxiety at His feet and in exchange allow God to minister His peace, love, and comfort to you.
